Medical Alert Bracelets for Blood Thinners
(QR Medical ID)

One scan shows your anticoagulant, dose and contacts—so responders manage bleeding risk appropriately.

Why a medical alert matters on anticoagulants

If you fall, hit your head, or have bleeding, responders need to know immediately whether you’re on warfarin or a DOAC (apixaban, rivaroxaban, dabigatran, etc.). It changes what happens next. A medical alert bracelet/necklace flags the risk; QR Medical ID provides the drug name, dose, indication (AF/DVT/PE/mechanical valve), and who to call. That clarity is crucial when minutes matter.

What to include in your QR Medical ID profile

Be precise and keep it current:

  • Anticoagulant: name and dose (e.g., apixaban 5 mg bd; warfarin mg/day with variable dosing).

  • Indication: AF, DVT/PE, valve, thrombophilia.

  • INR target (warfarin): e.g., 2.0–3.0; last INR if helpful.

  • Other meds: antiplatelets (aspirin, clopidogrel), NSAID avoidance if relevant.

  • Allergies: medication allergies/intolerances.

  • Contacts: cardiologist/haematologist/GP and emergency contacts.

  • Notes: head-injury precautions, bleeding history, recent surgery/dental.

Which product to choose

  • Medical alert bracelet: Highly visible; best for quick recognition in falls.

  • Medical alert necklace: Good alternative or addition.

  • QR Medical ID Kit: Wallet card for travel/appointments; fridge magnet at home.

Complementary safety: If you’re at risk of falls, consider the SOS Alert Watch (Personal Alert Safety System) with fall detection and SOS to alert contacts.
